Patience & Faith

Dear Rally Partners,

Allow me to share this short but powerful word with you this month.

First, let me give you some background.

The word "patience" means to be quiet and steady. The word "expectancy" means to have faith. Patience and faith go hand-in-hand.

I like to say it like this:

Patience undergirds our faith.

"Undergird" means "to strengthen, to make secure, to uphold."

Think about it this way: patience strengthens, secures, and upholds our faith!

An analogy I use to illustrate the concept of patience is a baseball glove. The glove holds the ball, keeping it from falling to the ground. The ball drops if you remove the glove. Many have been falling out of faith because they lack the undergirding of patience.

Here's another example:

On Monday, you decide to sell your car. You place an ad online, you pray over the sale, and you speak to the car and say, "Car, you are sold in Jesus' name."

Now let's say Monday comes and you've got no leads. Tuesday comes and still no one bites. By the time Wednesday comes, the car starts speaking to you saying, "I'm not going to sell. You're stuck with me. Maybe you're asking too much. Maybe you should take me to the junkyard and sell me for scraps." Whatever the voice is saying, it's trying to make you waver in your faith.

Patience has a voice too, and it says, "God heard the prayer you prayed on Monday. The words you spoke are working, too. Don't give in to pressure." Patience is the key in keeping your faith steady. Patience says, "Allow God to make the sale happen. Allow God to set the sale up. Allow the Word to bring the buyer!" You might have great faith, but without patience your faith will cave to the voice of pressure.

This principle applies to every area of life––your healing, finances, marriage, children, and career.

Something else to watch out for is time. The ticking clock has a voice too. It might say, "You'd better make a move. Time is running out! Hurry up!"

Allow me to say this to you: Be patient, my child. Be patient!

Let's look at what the Word has to say!

Romans 8:25 KJV

"But if we hope (or have faith) for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it."

Patience is the key to waiting. Waiting is not doubting. Waiting requires faith!

Hebrews 6:11-12 KJV

"And we desire that every one of you do shew the same diligence to the full assurance of hope unto the end: That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises."

Verse 12 tells us not to be slothful, but to follow people who received all the promises, breakthroughs, miracles, and blessings by having patience and faith!

Remember that "expectancy" also means to have faith.

Proverbs 23:18 KJV

"For surely there is an end; and thine expectation shall not be cut off."

You see, expectancy or faith will not allow us to be cut off, but it will cause us to receive all that God has for us.

Psalm 62:5 KJV

"My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from him."

Our expectation (faith) is from God. We need to protect it. We need to strengthen it, and that can only happen when we allow patience to work with our faith.

Let me say it again:

Do NOT allow time to move your faith. Move time with your faith and patience.

Amen! Glory!

We love you, Rally Partners!
